Accessibility Statement

The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) is committed to making its Websites accessible, in accordance with the Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz (WZG - BGBl. I. Nr. 59/2019 idgF).

This accessibility statement applies to https://www.ncp-ip.at/.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with Conformance Level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1“ and the applicable European standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) according to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council, due to the non-compliances and the exemptions listed below.

  • Success Criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content):
    Some images do not have a text alternative.
  • Success Criterion 1.2.1 (Audio-only and Video-only (Prerecorded))
    Podcasts are available only as audio content; there is no text alternative.
  • Success Criterion 1.2.2 (Captions (Prerecorded))
    Videos do not have subtitles.
  • Success Criterion 1.2.3 (Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded))
    Videos do not have audio description or text alternative.
  • Success Criterion 1.2.5 (Audio Description (Prerecorded)):
    Videos do not have audio description.
  • Success Criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships):
    The heading structure on the homepage is not logical. Some pages lack an H1.
    Accordions are not implemented correctly; headings are used instead of buttons.
    In slider components, the pause button is implemented as a link instead of a button.
    The checkboxes for newsletter subscriptions do not have correctly associated labels.
  • Success Criterion 1.3.2 (Meaningful Sequence):
    On the page "Videos and Podcasts," the audio players are not labelled. Since they are located before the corresponding heading, the sequence is unclear.
  • Success Criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast (Minimum)):
    Some text has insufficient contrast to the background.
  • Success Criterion 1.4.4 (Resize Text):
    Resizing text is not supported everywhere, and overlapping sometimes occurs.
  • Success Criterion 1.4.5 (Images of Text):
    Images of text are used, even though implementation as text would be possible.
  • Success Criterion 1.4.10 (Reflow):
    Some zoom levels lead to horizontal scrolling.
    The search function is not available when zoomed in or in the mobile view.
  • Success Criterion 1.4.11 (Non-text Contrast):
    Some visual elements don’t conform to minimum contrast requirements.
  • Success Criterion 2.1.1 (Keyboard):
    Accordions are not keyboard-usable.
  • Success Criterion 2.4.3 (Focus Order):
    The cookie dialog does not immediately receive focus. It is necessary to navigate through the entire content using the keyboard or assistive technology to access the dialog.
    The search button is located before the search field.
  • Success Criterion 2.4.7 (Focus Visible):
    Keyboard focus is not visible on the cookie banner buttons.
    In slider components, the back and forward buttons do not have visible keyboard focus.
  • Success Criterion 3.1.2 (Language of Parts)
    English-language texts in the German version of the page are not marked with the lang-attribute.
  • Success Criterion 3.3.2 (Labels or Instructions)
    A checkbox for the newsletter subscription does not have a meaningful label.
  • Success Criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value)
    The main navigation is not implemented correctly.
    The footer navigation is not implemented correctly.
    In the cookie banner, the toggle buttons and the drop-down elements do not communicate their status programmatically.
    Some iframes have no label.
  • Success Criterion 4.1.3 (Status Messages)
    Screen readers do not receive the information that errors were found when submitting a form.

The content is not within the scope of the applicable legislation

  • There are documents (office applicable formats, such as PDF) on the website available to download, which were published prior to 23 September 2018 and are not subject to the WZG.

Enforcement procedure

If the response from the above contact is not satisfactory, you may file a complaint with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints filed online via the electronic contact form.

The FFG will examine whether the complaint relates to violations of the Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz (WZG), particularly to failure on the part of the federal government or associated institutions to comply with the accessibility requirements

If the complaint is justified, the FFG will make recommendations for action to the federal government or the legal entities concerned and propose measures designed to remedy the problem.
