New study on knowledge valorisation: Recommendations for Austria's innovation landscape published

The National Contact Point for Intellectual Property and Knowledge Valorisation (NCP-IP) has published a comprehensive study on the national implementation of the EU guidelines on knowledge valorisation. The team led by Technopolis/Radauer has developed recommendations for action based on two stakeholder workshops and interviews with experts.

The focus is on the new concept of ‘knowledge valorisation’, which expands on traditional technology transfer: in addition to patenting and licensing, cooperative research projects, spin-offs, standardisation and social impact are also taken into account. The aim is to develop a holistic approach that involves all players in the innovation ecosystem and promotes the sustainable exploitation of knowledge.

The study provides valuable impetus for the strategic development of knowledge and technology transfer in Austria and supports the implementation of the four EU codes on knowledge valorisation. The findings of the study will also guide and inform future NCP-IP activities.

More information on the new concept of ‘knowledge valorisation’ and the full recommendations can be downloaded here (in German).
